WASHINGTON ( DC News Now ) — Cinco de Mayo is just around the corner — and events around the DMV give residents a variety of ways to celebrate.

Cinco de Mayo is celebrated on May 5, marking the anniversary of Mexico’s victory over French forces at the Battle of Puebla in 1862. Mexico does not celebrate the holiday as much as the U.S. does, where parades, block parties, events and more celebrate Mexican culture.
