I have placed an RPM for Malik Mack to ultimately choose Georgetown.

Mack is the No. 1 point guard and the No. 6 overall player currently in On3’s Transfer Portal Rankings . The 6-foot-1 freshman earned Ivy League Rookie of the Year honors this season after averaging 17.2 points, 4.8 assists, 1.3 steals, and knocking down 1.9 threes per game.

Mack is originally from the DMV area (Oxon Hill, Maryland) and he graduated from Washington (DC) St. John’s College High School.

Malik Mack Recruiting Intel

Once Malik Mack entered the transfer portal , he became a hot topic. Immediately put into the top ten of On3’s Transfer Portal rankings, he took over the No. 1 point guard spot and has been able to hold on to that since.

Initially, coming out of Harvard, there was some buzz around Maryland. However, the Terrapins quickly moved on to Belmont guard Ja’Kobi Gillespie . From that point, Georgetown built a lot of smoke. Multiple sources close to the recruitment suggested Georgetown was the leader in the clubhouse here for a good bit of this process.

Virginia and head coach Tony Bennett jumped into play. The Cavaliers were able to schedule a for Sunday. I am told that this visit has since been canceled. Even with the late push from Bennett, I am also told Texas tried to get involved as well, a source close to the recruitment tells me they think Georgetown will end up being the choice.

I do not have a time frame yet. So continue to tune in to On3 for all the latest intel and breaking news from college basketball’s Transfer Portal.
