Investigation launched after man, 64, found dead in Waseca home

Authorities have launched an investigation after a man was found dead in a Waseca home on Wednesday.

Waseca Police Department said it was called to conduct a welfare check at 12:24 p.m., which brought them to a home in the 900 Block of 3rd St SW.

After attempts to contact the resident failed, police entered the home to find the body of a 64-year-old man.

The man has been taken to the Ramsey County Medical Examiner’s Office for autopsy.

"This investigation is ongoing. We do not suspect any ongoing danger or threat to the public," the department said.

"We express our deepest condolences to the family in their time of loss."
