WARREN, Ohio (WKBN) – The Trumbull County Sheriff’s Office has a new drop box for unwanted prescription medication.

The upgraded drop box’s design is similar to a mailbox. It can be found near the visitation area at the sheriff’s office in Warren.

It replaces the older box that had been there for years.

The new model was paid for through federal funding from drug seizures.

Trumbull County Sheriff Paul Monroe said it’s well-marked and easy to use.

“We’ve had some great comments. People are pleased to see the change. Sometimes our staff was out helping them put old prescription drugs into the old drug box, so this should make it a little bit easier for the public,” Monroe said.

People can drop off their old, unwanted prescription medication in the new drop box anytime the lobby is open so the sheriff’s office can properly dispose of it.
