MORRISTOWN, NJ - A woman was hit by a train near the Morristown Train Station on May 5, 2024. After being approached by a NJ Transit Train Conductor, Morristown Officer Nico Hollain jumped into action and quickly located the victim near the end of the east-bound platform. Construction Worker Critically Injured in Fall at Site in Westfield, Police Say
WESTFIELD, NJ — A construction worker was critically injured Monday morning when he fell more than 20 feet from scaffolding at the construction site at the former Williams Nursery on Springfield Avenue, police said. Plainfield man sentenced to 23 years for fatal shooting
A 34-year-old Plainfield man has been sentenced to 23 years in state prison for the 2022 fatal shooting of a 50-year-old man. Haneef Welch was sentenced May 16 by Union County Superior Court Judge Candido Rodriguez on an aggravated manslaughter charge and ordered to serve at least 85 percent of his sentence before he becomes eligible for parole, Union County Prosecutor William A. Daniel and Plainfield Police Director James T. Abney announced.
