Woman gets 5 years in prison after running over another woman, critically injuring her
A Union Bridge woman was ordered on Friday to serve five years in prison after she ran over another woman in July — almost killing her — and fled afterward. Chelsea Kendall, 39, was in a rental car when she drove over Jami Cornell in the area of Black Ankle and Unionville roads, east of Libertytown on July 13, 2022, authorities said.
Nine Frederick County Businesses Found To Be In Violation Of Tobacco Laws
A Health Department Initiative found they sold tobacco products to underage customers. Frederick, Md (KM) Between January and March of this year, the Frederick County Health Department’s Tobacco Merchants Sales Compliance Initiative paid visits to 50 tobacco retailers. Out of those 50, 41 businesses were found to be compliance with state law prohibiting the sale of tobacco and vaping products to persons under 21 Nine were found to be violation, and were issued citations.

The Frederick County State’s Attorney’s Office says Chelsea Anne Kendall, 39, was given 25 years in prison with all but five years suspended.
Two Frederick County school teachers arrested for inappropriate contact with students
FREDERICK, Md. (7News) — Two Frederick County Public School teachers were arrested for having inappropriate contact with students, the Frederick County Sheriff's Office. Emily Walker, 23, a PE teacher and basketball coach at Frederick County Middle School, had inappropriate contact with a 12-year-old on more than once occasion, the sheriff's office said. Police say they saw hundreds of text messages between Walker and the student, which took place over the course of several weeks, and indicated "an escalation in expectations of physical contact."

Four of six workers killed in fatal I-695 crash were from Frederick area, police say
Four of the six construction workers who died in a two-vehicle crash on I-695 in Baltimore County on Wednesday afternoon were from the Frederick area, according to police. Carlos Orlando Villatoro Escobar, 43, and Jose Armando Escobar, 52, both of Frederick, were among the six people who died in the crash, Maryland State Police said in a news release on Thursday.
