The deputies received 1,779 calls for service during this period. NORTH BEACH, Md. – On June 10, 2023, End Hunger Calvert County will be hosting the 5th Annual Dragon Boat Festival at the North Beach boardwalk. BRANDYWINE, MD – A man was fatally shot Wednesday night in Brandywine. The victim was identified as Joe Louis Washington, a 32-year-old local resident. On the evening of Wednesday, around 8:45 pm, Seat Pleasant Police Department officers responded to a report of a shooting on the 6000 block of Martin Luther King Jr. Highway. On arrival, they found Mr. Washington outside with a gunshot wound. He was transported to a local hospital where he was declared dead shortly afterwards.
