Several restaurants have gone to the great kitchen in the sky — or are ready to cross the pearly gates — as eight food and drink spots in Reno-Sparks join the latest list of closures. The places run the gamut from a longtime downtown breakfast joint to a well-known coffee brand that was barely open for a year. One even lets patrons drink and throw sharp objects. Seriously. Another is a chain that’s part of a string of closures making news nationwide. So which food and drink places will locals be bidding “au revoir” to? Here is the latest rundown of restaurant closures for Reno-Sparks. Outback Steakhouse, 3645 S. Virginia St., Reno Located just north of the Atlantis Casino Resort Spa parking lot, the Reno Outback Steakhouse is one of several casualties arising from the bankruptcy of a major franchisee for the national chain. 5 Best Restaurants in Sparks, Nevada You Need to Try Before Everyone Else Finds Them
Sparks, Nevada — a city where the Sierra’s shadow cools the desert dusk, where the hum of trains and the laughter of families mingle beneath neon and mountain sky. Here, stucco bungalows and new apartments stand shoulder to shoulder, stitched together by the stories of casino workers, teachers, retirees, and newcomers drawn by the promise of possibility. Sparks is a crossroads — of Basque ranchers and Filipino cooks, of old-timers who remember the rail yards and young dreamers who gather at the marina, of families who linger over pancakes on Sunday mornings and friends who toast the sunset with a cold pint.

The Salted Caramel Apple Pies At This Reno Bakery Are A Nevada Fall Treat Worth Trying
A whole apple pie gets finished with handmade salted caramel sauce, and it also comes in a 4-inch size called a Cutie Pie. That name alone makes me want one. The apples get roasted with warm spices before they ever meet the crust. Then everything goes into a flaky double crust.
