Culpeper District Weekly Traffic Alert: VDOT work scheduled for May 27-31
VDOT has updated its schedule for road construction and maintenance in the Culpeper District during the next week. Road conditions and other real-time travel information can be found on the 511 Virginia website, the free VDOT 511 mobile app or by calling 511 from any phone in Virginia. VDOT updates are also on the Culpeper District Facebook page and the district’s Twitter account, @VaDOTCulp.

Costs drop for Route 29 widening project, completion set for 2026
The price tag for the ongoing project to widen Route 29 just east of Centreville has dropped. The project, which started construction over a year ago, will add two lanes to a 1.5-mile segment of the road between Union Mill Road and Buckleys Gate Drive, expanding it from four lanes to six.
