I-95 Nighttime Joint Repairs and Paving in Prince William Begin April 28
Beginning Sunday night, April 28, weather permitting, a portion of the northbound and southbound I-95 general purpose lanes in Prince William County will have nighttime single- and double-lane closures until late fall for roadway joint repairs and paving. At least one lane will remain open in each direction at all times.

Prince William County Green Business Council Environmental Professional Course
The PWCGBC Environmental Professional course for small business owners is a basic introduction to the environmental education and resources small business owners in Prince William County need to operate in a more sustainable way. This month, current class members and KPWB staff visited the Hansen Farm Road Compost Facility for a closer look at how the composting process works on a larger scale for our community and to learn more about what the future capabilities of composting could be in Prince William. It was a blast!

Scholarships Awarded to Students at Annual Education and Workforce Breakfast
Six local high school students were awarded scholarships at the annual Education and Workforce Breakfast, held on April 24 by the Prince William Chamber of Commerce. The 2024 winners are graduating high school students who were selected by a panel of business leaders and were all awarded $2,500 scholarships, for use at their U.S. college or university of choice. All of this year’s scholarship winners demonstrated exceptional dedication to academics and community involvement, meeting the criteria outlined by the scholarship committee.
UVA Health Prince William Medical Center Donates $10,000 to Mother of Mercy Free Medical Clinic
UVA Health announced a donation of $10,000 to the Mother of Mercy Free Medical Clinic in Manassas and Woodbridge. The donation is being given in honor of National Doctors’ Day, which took place on March 30, to recognize the exceptional service of physicians to the community. “Our team of dedicated doctors consistently demonstrates a deep commitment to serving patients in Prince William and the surrounding area,” said Erik Shannon, Chief Operating Officer of Community Health. “This donation is our gift to thank the doctors for their hard work in providing quality care to our patients and our continued partnership with Mother of Mercy Free Medical Clinic.”
Gainesville Community Choir Presents “Songs of Loudest Praise”
Gainesville Community Choir’s highly anticipated concert will be held at Grace United Methodist Church in Manassas on May 24 at 7:30 p.m. and May 25 at 4 p.m. The concert is entitled “Songs of Loudest Praise” and boasts an eclectic selection of music including Renaissance, Spirituals, Scottish, Indian Raga, Film Soundtrack, American Folk music, and an epic medley from Andrew Lloyd Webber’s record-smashing musical, The Phantom of the Opera.
Four PWCS Counseling Programs Earn RAMP Designation
The American School Counselor Association (ASCA) has recognized Glenkirk and Gravely Elementary Schools, and Lake Ridge and Saunders Middle Schools, as four of the 138 schools nationwide to receive the 2024 Recognized ASCA Model Program (RAMP) designation. Balls Ford Road Widening Project Now Complete
