Motorist pulling out of driveway killed by passing vehicle, police say
A Salem County man died Tuesday afternoon when his car was struck by another vehicle as he exited a driveway, according to New Jersey State Police. Barry Sofsky, 71, of Pittsgrove, was leaving a driveway on Garden Road near Crow Pond Road in the township shortly after 3 p.m., police said, when his car was hit by an SUV traveling east on Garden Road.
