No more weather speculation—the storm predicted to hit the Northeast did, indeed, hit the Northeast.

And what a storm it's been. This morning, Sugarbush Resort, Vermont, woke up to the conclusion of a storm cycle that delivered more than 20 inches of snow.

As of this afternoon, the final tally for the weekend storm cycle was a whopping 23 inches of snow.

One commenter below Sugarbush's update said they had the "Best day in years!" today, thanks to all the new powder.

The refresh proved vital for Sugarbush's snowpack. "Remember when you were skiing on rocks last week?!" the resort wrote in a mountain operations update this afternoon. Rocks, begone.

Tomorrow's forecast calls for clear skies and relatively mild temperatures, making it an even better opportunity to take advantage of Sugarbush's recent snowfall.

Other resorts throughout the region benefitted from the storm. Jay Peak Resort, Vermont, picked up two-plus feet of snow, as did Killington Resort, Vermont.

You couldn't think of a better way to build momentum for the late season, which—hate to say it—is right around the corner.
