VERMILLION, S.D. (KELO) — It started as a quiet night in one neighborhood, just blocks from Vermillion High School, but that didn’t last.

Residents in the neighborhood say they were awoken by the sound of sirens and flashing lights. One man said he remembers seeing cops running to and from their cars.
