Construction Nearly Completed on Awesome Donut Shop
SAN ANGEL0— The next morning stop is nearly complete, and they will have awesome pastries for sale. Way back in September 2022, a building permit was issued in the amount of $650,000 for San Angelo’s next donut stop in “Awesome Donut Shop”, located at the corner of Southwest Boulevard and Green Meadow Drive in the Southland neighborhood. It has taken some time since the first walls went up but now, locally owned ARA Construction, is preparing to pour the parking lot and the other three walls have gone up. Learn More Here.
Concho River Restocked With Channel Catfish
SAN ANGELO, TX — The Inland Fisheries San Angelo District announced today, May 24, that the Concho River in downtown San Angelo was once again stocked with Channel Catfish. The restocking initiative began on April 12, the restockings will continue biweekly after that, excluding August. The 2024 stocking schedule is set to include dates on April 12, April 26, May 10, May 24, June 7, and June 21, a special stocking on July 3 in anticipation of Independence Day, July 19, and resuming in September with stockings on the 6th and 20th. A severe thunderstorm dumped hail, heavy rain and brought high wind to San Angelo on Thursday afternoon. The storm tracked southeast to Eden, then Menard, then to Mason. The outlook for Friday and the weekend is hot weather. Highs at 100 or just above are expected. Humidity will remain high which increases the risk for heat related illnesses.

A Tornado Watch was issued for much of the Concho Valley Saturday afternoon, until 9:00 pm. Storms that develop may rapidly become severe and produce large hail and damaging wind. A few overnight showers and storms could develop but rain chances are not currently in the forecast for Sunday. Hot temperatures, however, remain in the forecast with highs between 100 and 103 Sunday and Monday. By Tuesday, an unsettled and stormy weather pattern returns with a good chance for thunderstorms Tuesday and Tuesday night and daily storm chances through the rest of next week.

DPS: Tanker truck driver inadvertently backs over man, killing him
TOM GREEN COUNTY, Texas — A 63-year-old San Angelo man died Wednesday morning when he was backed over by a tanker truck. The Texas Department of Public Safety said 40-year-old Cody Brazeal was working near the 9500 block of South York Road in Tom Green County at around 10:10 a.m. Wednesday. While he was performing a work-related function, Brazeal inadvertently backed over Robert Stevens.
