Escondido police continue search for missing man, this time with K-9s
Escondido police are not giving up the search for a missing man whose truck was found without him more than a week ago. About 34 officers and deputies with San Diego County Sheriff's Department Search and Rescue team on Tuesday morning went back to the last known location of 54-year-old William Purper in the hopes they can locate the reported missing person. Two K-9s were also in tow.
Pursuit crash that left 1 dead on southbound I-15 causes major traffic delays
One person died after a pursuit ended in a crash early Tuesday, which caused major traffic delays on southbound Interstate 15 near Escondido during the morning commute. California Highway Patrol in Murrietta spotted a person who reportedly stole a car in Hemet and attempted to stop the vehicle. The person then drove away initiating a pursuit, the San Diego County Sheriff's Lt. Lewis told NBC 7.

A farmers market run by a 40 year resident of Valley Center will debut at this year’s Western Days festival: Bellani Floral & Events Farmers Markets. It’s a brand new farmers market, although it has made one appearance next to Fat Ivor’s Rib Rack. It’s not a certified farmers market yet, although it will be applying to become one soon.
