Fuhr, Minakova team up to win 5 titles at MN State Horse Show
A slightly mischievous, fun-loving new horse made a challenging situation into an unforgettable experience, as Andover’s Selene Anne Fuhr and Blaine’s Sophia Marie Minakova combined to win five titles at the Minnesota State Championship Horse Show in Winona Oct. 9-11. After their regular lesson horses were no longer able to compete this year, Fuhr and Minakova were introduced to Aries, new to Minnesota after spending years in the same barn. The duo helped quickly bring Aries up to speed, gaining trust with only a single competition before the state finals. “Working with Aries this year was so much fun, and through him I get to see how much I’ve learned on all the other horses I have ridden over the years,” Fuhr said. “I connect with him really well and we have so much fun together. Disney's Newsies coming to stage at Central High School
Saint Paul Central High School is proud to present Disney's Newsies. This fall, 135 students have been hard at work - preparing every aspect of this production. The pit orchestra is made up entirely of students, and led by senior Lula Eian. E"very technical aspect is covered by the students, under the mentorship of an incredible creative team: sets are built, costumes created, lights set, sound run and more. And, the message shared by the cast through precise and enthusiastic dancing and singing is one that we need to hear now more than ever: we are stronger together than apart (“Once and For All”), and we need to stand up for those who can’t and courage is when we face our fear (“Seize the Day”)," say organizers.
