Bulldogs girls upset LPGE Thunder
The Swanville Bulldogs girls basketball team had a great game against the Long Prairie-Grey Eagle Thunder Thursday, Feb. 15. The Bulldogs maintained a healthy lead, winning 66-39. The Bulldogs’ Reese Jackson was the team’s lead scorer with 24 points. Delaney Chuba followed with 11 points while Lily Peterson and Addison Hudalla scored nine. The Bulldogs also took on the Pillager Huskies Tuesday, Feb. 20. The Huskies stayed ahead for the whole game, beating the Bulldogs 71-51. Peterson and Hudalla scored 14 points apiece while Jackson finished with 10. The Bulldogs hosted their last regular season game against the Bertha Hewitt Bears Thursday, Feb. 22. The team’s first section game is Monday, Feb. 26.

NASHVILLE, TENNESSEE (WJON News) -- A Todd County man has won a service award from the National Wild Turkey Federation. Ralph Warzecha of Eagle Bend was presented the Roger M. Latham Sportsman Wild Turkey Service Award for his conservation and outreach efforts. He received the award recently at the 48th annual Convention and Sport Show in Nashville, Tennessee.
St. Cloud Man Faces Four Felonies for Assault Monday Evening
(KNSI) — A 36-year-old St. Cloud man has been charged with four felonies after allegedly hitting a woman with a shoe and pistol whipping his neighbor. According to court documents filed in Stearns County, officers responded to a “gun complaint resulting in an injury” at an apartment on the 300 block of 4th Avenue South at around 7:30 Monday night. Investigators say Lawrence Duncan was accused of assaulting a woman there. Afterward, he went and found her father in a different apartment unit and hit him upside the head with a gun, “resulting in him discharging a bullet through his ear.”

Burtrum man charged with fifth-degree possession
Darrin Vern Gorka, 36, Burtrum, was charged in Morrison County District Court with one felony count of fifth-degree possession of a controlled substance. The charge stems from a Feb. 3 incident, when an officer of the Little Falls Police Department was attempting to serve a person with a Trespass Notice at an apartment building located on Second Avenue Northeast in the city of Little Falls. In the hallway of the apartment building, the officer observed Gorka. The officer requested dispatch run Gorka’s name to confirm if he had any warrants for his arrest. Dispatch confirmed there were active warrants and so Gorka was placed under arrest. During a search incident to arrest the officer located a piece of tinfoil in Gorka’s pants pocket. The officer later looked inside the foil bindle and observed a white powder inside. The substance later field-tested positive for fentanyl and weighed 0.68 grams. If convicted on the felony charge, Gorka faces up to five years imprisonment and/or a $10,000 fine.
