Man dies after crashing car into tree in Van Buren Co.
VAN BUREN COUNTY, Mich. — A man was killed Monday after crashing into a tree in Van Buren County. Deputies say the crash happened around 6:30 p.m. on 84th Avenue in Keeler Township. A 54-year-old Dowagiac man was driving a 1957 Chevy Bel Air when he crashed headfirst into a tree.
Woman injured in late night stabbing
MISHAWAKA, Ind. (WNDU) - A woman is recovering from injuries she suffered in a stabbing that Mishawaka police say stemmed from “an ongoing grievance” with another woman. Officers from the Mishawaka Police Department were called just after 11:20 p.m. Monday to the Beacon Granger Hospital for a stabbing victim. Police say the 24-year-old woman had been stabbed three times, but her injuries were not life-threatening.

Staff member arrested for bringing gun to Elkhart elementary school
ELKHART, Ind. (WNDU) - An Elkhart Community Schools employee has been placed under arrest after they allegedly brought a gun onto school grounds this morning. Elkhart police were notified by the district that one of its school resource officers placed a staff member at Mary Beck Elementary School under arrest around 9:30 a.m. for bringing a handgun into the school.
