St. Dominic rallies past softball Lady Knights
For the final season of Archdiocesan Athletic Association softball action, there won’t be an undefeated league champion. St. Dominic (13-5, 3-1) rallied to defeat St. Francis Borgia (11-4-1, 4-1) Thursday in O’Fallon, 7-5.
Union volleyball edges Lady Bulldogs
If we’ve learned anything so far in Four Rivers Conference volleyball play, it’s that the chase for the league title is wide open. Two days after St. Clair won at defending champion Hermann, Union knocked off the Lady Bulldogs in St. Clair Thursday, 25-22, 25-23, 21-25, 25-22.
Lady Bulldogs top Pacific, Union
Two conference foes spent Wednesday chasing the lead dogs. St. Clair’s Lady Bulldogs shot a 192, a combined 44 above par, to win a home tri-meet at Meramec Lakes Golf Course over Four Rivers Conference rivals Pacific, 232, and Union, 235.
Althoff sneaks past soccer Knights
Aiden Welch scored in the second half Saturday as the Belleville, Illinois, Althoff boys soccer team shut out St. Francis Borgia, 1-0. “It was a cool event to go play a team across the river in Illinois,” Borgia Head Coach Daniel Strohmeyer said. “It’s always nice to play new teams. Althoff is a solid program with a second-place finish in state last year. They played physical, organized, and had some speed and skill.”
Week 5 Football - St. Clair 42, Union 14
For the past five years, either Union or St. Clair has ruled over the Four Rivers Conference. Outside of the opening drive, when the two teams met in Week 5 if was almost all Bulldogs as St. Clair (4-1, 2-1) rolled to a 42-14 win over the Wildcats (1-4, 1-2) at Stierbierger Stadium.
Lady Shamrocks cap first league games with win at St. James
Make sure you keep the New Haven volleyball Lady Shamrocks in the list of Four Rivers Conference contenders this season. New Haven (14-6-1, 2-1) ended the first part of FRC play Thursday with a 25-9, 25-9, 25-14 win at St. James.

Posinski leads Borgia at Gans Creek Classic
Finishing 57th in the Boys White Division varsity race, Jacob Posinski gave St. Francis Borgia its top finish Saturday at the Gans Creek Classic in Columbia. Posinski, a senior, completed the cross country course in a time of 19:18.
Soccer Blue Jays finish pool play at 1-1-1
There was not a second tie to be had for Washington at the Hillsboro Tournament. Coming out of Monday’s 3-3 draw with Hillsboro, the Blue Jays (3-6-1) broke even with an 8-0 loss to Bishop DuBourg (7-1) Tuesday and a 2-0 victory over Fredericktown (2-2) Thursday.

Washington quickly rebounded from its first league volleyball setback Tuesday, returning to the win column 24 hours later. Ft. Zumwalt North (9-4-1, 3-2) upended the chances for the Lady Jays (10-4-1, 5-1) to run the table in the GAC Central Tuesday in five sets in O’Fallon, 13-25, 25-9, 21-25, 25-18, 15-10.
Crosspoint boys soccer edges Mississippi Valley Christian
Playing Tuesday in Pacific, the Crosspoint Christian School boys soccer Cougars edged Mississippi Valley Christian School, 3-2. “I thought our vision and passing was good throughout the game,” Crosspoint Head Coach Lance Callaway said. “We just didn’t take advantage of the chances we had. We’ll definitely be working on our finishing at practice.”
