    1 killed, 1 injured in Tuscaloosa shooting

    TUSCALOOSA, Ala. ( WIAT ) — Tuscaloosa police are investigating a shooting that left one man dead and another injured early Thursday morning.

    According to Tuscaloosa Violent Crimes Unit Cpt. Jack Kennedy, the shooting happened at Brookhaven Apartments on James I Harrison Jr. Parkway. Tuscaloosa police responded to the scene and found a man dead from apparent gunshot wound. He was later identified as 41-year-old Travaris Keandre Banks.

    Another person was shot but suffered from not life-threatening injuries. Aaron Reshad Smith, 37, was found later Thursday morning. Smith is charged with murder and attempted murder in connection to the shooting. He is being held in jail without bond.
