TUSCALOOSA, Ala. ( WIAT ) — A group of Tuscaloosa realtors from Keller Williams volunteered Thursday to help Habitat for Humanity build a house. It is part of Keller Williams’ annual nationwide “RED Day” program.

Alice Maxwell from Keller Williams said it’s a great feeling giving back to the community along with her team.

“We love giving back to Habitat because Habitat does so much for our community,” Maxwell said. “And this is just a small token of our appreciation for how we can help families in our community thrive because there’s nothing greater than home ownership, and just what a great opportunity for them and their children.”

Volunteers spent the morning using saws, nail guns, building wooden frames and painting siding. Ellen Potts, executive director for Habitat for Humanity of Tuscaloosa, said it’s a blessing having realtors work with her to help build a home for a deserving family.

“This is a wonderful day for us, and we look forward to ‘RED Day’ every year, and we got 30 people from Keller Williams out here volunteering,” Potts said.

Keller Williams is planning to volunteer again with Habitat for Humanity in 2025.
