Former supervisor at Tulsa Boys' Home arrested after allegedly raping 16-year-old boy

TULSA, Okla. — A former supervisor at the Tulsa Boys' Home has been charged with the second-degree rape of a 16-year-old boy.

Tulsa Police said 25-year-old Ashley Cartwright was arrested last Thursday.

Police said she met with one of the 16-year-old boys on a weekend pass at the Motel 6 near Admiral and Sheridan.

Police said they met there twice in December and had sex.

One of those times police said she provided him with alcohol.

They also said the two kissed once on campus at the Tulsa Boys' Home and that she would get him candy, an iPhone and get him out of trouble.

FOX23 spoke with Tulsa Police Detective Sergeant Ryan Vermeer on Monday afternoon about the case.

“She was in a supervisory position over him. When you have someone who is supposed to be not only responsible, but a model hopefully for these boys. Obviously having an inappropriate relationship that turned sexual and romantic and also getting to the point where they were doing activities outside the facility is very concerning,” Vermeer said.

Police said Cartwright has since resigned and that the Tulsa Boys' Home was very cooperative in the investigation.
