Jump River museum to open
The Jump River Valley Historical Society has announced its summer museum opening schedule. The museum will open for the season on June 8 to coincide with the 57th Lumberman’s Day festival in Catawba. The museum is scheduled to be open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on the second and fourth Saturdays of the month, which are June 8 and 22, July 13 and 27, and Aug. 10 and 24. Gottwald not running
Price County Clerk Jean Gottwald is not running for reelection in November. Her term will end on Jan. 6, 2025. Gottwald filed a noncandidacy notification on April 30. The deadline to file noncandidacy is May 24 in order to not appear on the Nov. 5 election ballot. The filing deadline to register as a candidate for county clerk is June 3, according to Gottwald. Persons interested in becoming a candidate can find information from the office on the Wisconsin Election Commission website.
