The Price County Sheriff’s Office reported several weather related calls for the wind storms of April 16-17. Severe isolated gusts brought down trees and power lines which led to grass fires. Flambeau River YMCA hires first executive director
PARK FALLS, Wis. (WSAW) - Scott Schultz will take the executive director role as the Flambeau River YMCA. The Flambeau River YMCA will include a childcare center, 24/7 fitness center, multi-generational room, group exercise area and community room. Construction is slated to start in summer 2024 with the facility opening in summer 2025. The YMCA of the Northwoods currently provides free afterschool and school-aged summer day camp as part of the 21st Century Grant with the Chequamegon School District.

The Price County Retired Educators’ Association has announced the 2024 programming schedule. The members hold four meetings per year in addition to special events. PARK FALLS — The city of Park Falls has successfully completed the application process to achieve a Tree City USA designation. The city joins Phillips, Medford, Ashland, Washburn, Merrill and Spooner and other regional municipalities in maintaining the annual designation by working to maintain and improve tree habitat. Hunting advocacy group to hold meeting on predator management in Park Falls on Tuesday
PARK FALLS, Wis. (WJFW) - The popular hunting advocacy group Hunter Nation will hold a meeting in Park Falls on Tuesday night to discuss plans of action to push for much stricter management of grey wolves across Wisconsin. Chris Vaughan is the director for the group’s Wisconsin chapter. He says the group wants to de-list the wolves from the endangered species list and bring back something more like the wolf management plan from 1999, which capped the population at 350 wolves.
