New health foods store to open in previous Bassett's Health Foods location

A family-owned market is coming to the former Bassett’s Health Foods location in West Toledo in February.

Better Health Market & Café will open a store at 3344 Secor Rd. on Feb. 21, which will be the Michigan-based store’s first store in Ohio, the store said.

It will offer produce, beauty and wellness products, onsite nutrition experts, and gourmet dishes, among other products and services, it said.

“We are extremely excited to open our new location in Toledo, our first store outside Michigan. We feel this is the right for us to expand outside our home state and Ohio is the logical place to open the new location,” said Tedd Handelsman, founder and president of Better Health.

“People are increasingly looking for ways to increase their health and change their lifestyles. Whether to add natural supplements to their lives or are finding healthier alternatives to their favorite snacks like potato chips, natural meats, and organic produce, we are going to offer the cleanest brands that taste great, at reasonable prices.”
