1 dead in Nashwauk after single vehicle accident
Saturday at around 10:00am, the Itasca County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of a fatal hit and run accident on 2nd Street near Larue Court, in the town of Nashwauk. Preliminary investigation showed that the accident was not the result of a hit and run incident, but instead the victim’s truck and camper trailer were unmanned as they began to roll from their parking spot. Subsequently, the truck and camper trailer struck the victim.

Duluth, Minn. - Starting Monday, the Munger Landing Boat Launch and parking lots will be closed through Thursday, May 23. The closure is due to paving work and other restoration efforts. The DNR will also be installing a new fishing pier. Work is part of the ongoing effort to delist the St. Louis River as a Great Lakes Area of Concern due to past pollution. Minnesota Supreme Court reverses murder conviction in 1986 cold case killing
CHISHOLM, Minn. — Minnesota's highest court has reversed a northern Minnesota man's conviction in a brutal 1986 sexual assault and slaying.In 2022, Michael Allan Carbo Jr. of Chisholm was found guiilty of first-degree murder while committing criminal sexual conduct in the killing of 38-year-old Nancy Daugherty, also of Chisholm. Carbo was sentenced to life in prison at the time.
