Coachella Valley High School given all clear after hoax bomb threat
Coachella Valley High School was evacuated Friday morning evacuated after a suspicious device was found on campus. The device was later found to be a hoax. Cathedral City renames streets to celebrate high school students' academic achievements
Cathedral City is unveiling two street signs named after local high school students on Thursday morning to celebrate their academic achievements. Mayor Mark Carnevale and city councilmembers were at the street naming ceremonies for Mt. San Jacinto High School at 8 a.m. and for Cathedral City High School at 8:30 a.m. These streets, located by the schools, are renamed annually after one of their respective students.
Palm Desert High School recognizes its Class of 2024 Aztecs
At Thursday evening's graduation ceremony, Palm Desert High School celebrated its class of 2024 graduates at the Aztec Stadium. Jacqueline "Yuritzi" Gonzalez, the associated student body president, led the Pledge of Allegiance. The PDHS Chamber Singers performed the national anthem and the school's alma mater. Emily Hoy delivered the senior address and Sydney Weeks gave the final remarks.
Shadow Hills High School student secures national achievement award in writing
Shadow Hills High School student Savannah Vela was awarded the 2024 Achievement Award in Writing, provided by the National Council of Teachers of English (NCTE). According to NCTE, Vela is an Advanced Placement student with an interest in journalism. She was recently named the 2024-25 editor-in-chief of Shadow Hill's student newspaper, the Knight Times.
Indio High School honors its Class of 2024 Rajahs
Indio High School's Class of 2024 graduating seniors marked a milestone at Wednesday evening's graduation ceremony at the Ed White Stadium. The 158th Battalion of the California Cadet Corps Honor Guard began the ceremony with the presentation of the colors. Eduardo "Lalo" Gallardo, who serves as the associated student body president, led the Pledge of Allegiance. Benjamin E. Mora Jimenez performed the national anthem. Gallardo and Sienna Rodriguez, the Renaissance president, delivered remarks. Mia Wedeking, the senior class president, gave the final remarks. The IHS alma mater was performed the senior members of the girls' varsity volleyball team.
