Nationwide Emergency Alert System Tests Scheduled for October 4, 2023: What Local Residents Need to Know
FEMA will conduct nationwide tests of the Emergency Alert System (EAS) and Wireless Emergency Alerts (WEA) system on October 4, 2023, starting at 11:20 A.M. PDT. The tests will send alerts to all cellular devices, televisions, and radios to evaluate the efficiency of the systems. If severe weather or other events occur, the tests will be postponed to October 11, 2023.
