Vermont couple sentenced for neglecting vulnerable adult, Medicaid fraud
MONTPELIER, Vt. — Two former Morrisville residents were sentenced on Wednesday after they pleaded guilty to charges including neglect that resulted in a woman's death. Attorney General Charity Clark's Office said 34-year-old Joshua Jones and 34-year-old Britney Spaulding, both of Lynchburg, Virginia were hired to care for two vulnerable adults entrusted to their care, including a 71-year-old woman who later died.

Beware of Impersonators: Scams Targeting Virginia Residents with Fake Law Enforcement Badges
Two scams were reported in Stafford County, Virginia, where scammers impersonated law enforcement agencies. In the first incident, a victim was contacted by fake Federal Trade Commission and Drug Enforcement Administration agents who claimed that her information was fraudulently used, and she needed to transfer money in cryptocurrency to them. The victim did not lose any money as she discovered the name of one of the fake agents involved in a similar scam and hung up.

New Spotsylvania Park & Ride adds 700 commuter spaces
Commuters now have nearly 700 additional parking spaces in Spotsylvania County at a new Park and Ride that VDOT cut the ribbon on today. Located at Rt. 1 and Commonwealth Drive about 2 miles from I-95 Exit 126, the site offers 14 accessible parking spaces, 10 spaces for motorcycle parking plus a bicycle rack. A dedicated area is provided for transit arrivals and departures and carpool and vanpool pickups and drop offs.
