MONTPELIER, Vt. — Two former Morrisville residents were sentenced on Wednesday after they pleaded guilty to charges including neglect that resulted in a woman's death. Two scams were reported in Stafford County, Virginia, where scammers impersonated law enforcement agencies. In the first incident, a victim was contacted by fake Federal Trade Commission and Drug Enforcement Administration agents who claimed that her information was fraudulently used, and she needed to transfer money in cryptocurrency to them. The victim did not lose any money as she discovered the name of one of the fake agents involved in a similar scam and hung up.

On May 31, Aquia Harbour PD and Stafford County responded to a scene where two 14-year-old teenagers were hit and seriously injured by a vehicle. The driver of that vehicle turned out to be Sgt. Major Beth Ellen Abbott, a 39-year-old Marine based in Stafford.

Stafford County police are asking for the public’s help to solve two Friday night robbery incidents that appear to have been committed by the same person. Both incidents occurred on June 3. The suspect is described as a male with a light complexion who is approximately 6 feet tall. He has a slim build and curly, shoulder-length hair that’s dark brown.

Two residents of Stafford, Virginia caused a disturbance during a Saturday night party, prompting a noise complaint from a neighbor. Deputies arrived to find an extremely loud party with music blaring and the smell of alcohol in the air. The homeowners were uncooperative and threatened deputies with their dogs. They were informed of their noise level and advised to lower it.
