Grandson arrested after grandmother’s body found in shallow grave near Ypsilanti
WASHTENAW COUNTY, MI - Police arrested a man Friday, May 17 after his missing grandmother was found dead in an Ypsilanti Township backyard. The Washtenaw County Sheriff’s Office responded around 10:30 a.m. to a welfare check on the 1300 block of W. Warner Street, according to a news release. A concerned family had called dispatch because they hadn’t heard from their 73-year-old relative in several days.
University Hospital to undergo $18M renovation to address capacity concerns
ANN ARBOR, MI - An $18-million renovation at one of University of Michigan Health’s hospitals aims to compensate for beds soon to be lost in an intra-hospital agreement. University Hospital South on the Ann Arbor health system’s medical campus currently shares a 26-bed inpatient unit with Trinity Health Ann Arbor. Those beds will revert to Trinity Health this fall, necessitating University of Michigan Health to add a 26-bed unit of its own, hospital officials said Thursday.
