The Arizona State men's golf has done it again. The Sun Devils are the Pac-12 champion, winning the last-ever tournament title in the soon-to-be-extinct conference and taking it in commanding fashion.

ASU, ranked No. 4 nationally, totaled 27-over 1,447 to outdistance runner-up California by 16 strokes in the 72-hole event held at the par 71, 7,203-yard Desert Forest Golf Club in Carefree. It was the 13th conference title dating back to the Pac-10 era. That's five more than USC, which has won eight.

Defending champion Stanford placed third at 44-over 1,464. Washington and Oregon rounded out the top five, both ending up at 48-over 1,468.

Stanford senior Karl Vilips was the top individual, finishing at 2-under 282 thanks to a final round of 3-under 68. That bested runner-up Ryggs Johnston, a graduate student from ASU who shot a final round of 2-under 69 to put him at 1-under 283 for the tournament.

Freshman Wenyi Ding of ASU, the No. 5 ranked amateur in the world, tied for sixth at 4-over 288. He was third going into the final hole but had a triple-bogey 7 at the 467-yard, par-4 No. 18.

Freshman Connor Williams was the No. 3 finisher for the Sun Devils, tying for 13th place at 10-over 294. Junior Preston Summerhays tied for 15th at 299 but had a nice comeback, shooting a 5-under 66 which boosted him 28 spots on the individual leaderboard. Summerhays, the No. 6 ranked amateur, was buried in the standings after a second round of 81 Friday.

Arizona started the final round in eighth place but dropped a spot, finishing at 75-over 1,495. Sophomore Zach Pollo and freshman Yannick Malik were the top finishers for the Wildcats, ending up as part of a seven-way tie for 15th place at 11-over 295.

Teams now await their assignments for NCAA Regional play.
