Invasive species found in Grand Rapids lake
GRAND RAPIDS, Minn. (Northern News Now) - An invasive species was found in a popular Grand Rapids area lake. The Minnesota DNR confirmed they found starry stonewort on the southwest end of Pokegama Lake. It’s a bushy, bright green algae that has a white star-shaped bulb at the end.
Area student receives NDSU scholarship

GRACF donors continue to offer support to area students through scholarships
In 2024, the Grand Rapids Area Community Foundation (GRACF) administered education funding to Greater Itasca area students through over 90 scholarships funded by area donors.
