Highway 2 and 65 Swan River roundabout construction meeting April 29
DULUTH—On Monday, April 29, 2024, at 5 p.m., Minnesota Department of Transportation staff will be holding an information meeting about construction occurring at the intersection of Highway 2 and Highway 65 in Swan River. The meeting will be held at Warba City Hall (120 2nd Ave, Warba, MN 55793). A roundabout will be constructed at the intersection. Motorists can expect a detour of Highway 65 this summer. Celebrate Arbor Day by going on a walking class in trees
On Sunday, April 28, Urban Forester Barb Spears will lead Itasca Unitarian Fellowship participants and any others interested in a tree walk starting from Pokegama Dam (Government Dam) on Highway 2 west of Grand Rapids. Meeting at 10am, the event will start with basic tree identification and tree planting, care, and maintenance. Barb will lead the group through the campground and picnic area for the first part of a walk. The meeting will be hosted by MnDOT on Tuesday, April 30 at 4:30 p.m. at the Hinckley City Hall Community Room. Currently, the project is in the study phase and no immediate projects are planned.
