When it comes to travelers who fly Southwest Airlines, many are very loyal to the brand. Between their affordable ticket prices and free checked baggage policy, flying Southwest is a no brainer for many travelers who can't splurge on pricier airlines like Delta, especially if they're bringing the whole family along on vacation. But at least some of Southwest's biggest fans are about to have a harder time earning those miles than ever after these big changes.

Southwest is pulling out of four major airports amid the Boeing scandal that somehow just keeps getting worse, and this is going to be bad news for anyone in these cities who's planning a trip in the coming months.

This news report from WGN News states that the airline is experiencing financial issues due to the problems with Boeing planes — losing the ones that are now out of commission and replacing some of them with new planes that are functioning as they are supposed to.

Now, Southwest Airlines will not be offering service at four different airports around the country: Bellingham International Airport in Washington, George Bush Intercontinental Airport in Houston, Syracuse Hancock International Airport in Syracuse, and Cozumel International Airport in Mexico.

    Yikes!

    Southwest Service Changes

According to USA Today , the airline has reported a net loss of $231 million i n the first quarter of 2024, which had led to the need to make some major changes so that they are able to rebound financially.

The problem might get worse before it gets better, since Boeing may take until 2025 to deliver aircrafts and parts to Southwest and other airlines. What a mess!

It's not just these four cities that will be affected, either. Southwest is cutting about half of its flights out of Atlanta, along with a third from Chicago's O'Hare Airport.

Buckle up for delays this summer, people... it's not going to be pretty!
