Baseball lessons: Students head to Polar Park for WooSox game
WORCESTER — Home plate, not homework. Hundreds of schoolchildren shifted their focus, for a day at least, with a field trip to Polar Park Wednesday. The students took in the 11 a.m. game between the Worcester Red Sox and the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre Railriders. St. Paul softball looks to ride momentum into playoffs
WORCESTER, Mass. — The high school softball regular season wraps up soon, and then it's onto the MIAA state playoffs for all the teams that qualify. The St. Paul softball team will be a high seed in Division 1. The Knights have had a good season and the girls want to keep that momentum going.

Algonquin Regional's Grace Chiota and Bella Roman have been voted the High School Girls Lacrosse Players of the Week. The duo combined to receive over 11,000 votes. Chiota, a junior, had 5 points, including No. 100 of her career, in an 11-9 win over Leominster. Roman chipped in 5 goals and an assist in that victory. Roman had another 5-goal game, including No. 100 of her career, in a 10-8 win over Shrewsbury. Chiotta had 2 goals and an assist in that one.
Webster On Wheels
First held in 2009, Webster On Wheels (WOW) is Webster’s only annual community bike riding event. Held on Sunday, May 5, at Bristol Elementary School, WOW brought the community — kids, parents and adults — together for a fun and safe bicycle event. “And there were absolutely no scrapes, cuts, bruises, falls or crashes,” said one of the event’s coordinators, Dave Buck. Sunday’s event included free bike safety checks, traffic safety tips from Webster police, and a stunt show from the St. Louis Sprockets.

The Nipmuc girls' lacrosse team has been perfect in Mid-Mass play, continuing momentum built after a successful 2023 campaign. “Last year, our team was able to secure a CMass. championship for the first time and only graduated three seniors, thus carrying over many players this year,” Nipmuc coach Grace Merten said. “We have increased the difficulty of our schedule, adding in a few out of league games, and the increased level of difficulty has really helped grow our program and our ability to perform in competitive games.”
