For the first time in five elections, incumbent Barbara Penson is facing a well-funded opponent for the Floyd County Superior Court Clerk seat, in Mary Hardin Thornton. ECO Center Renovations Progressing Despite Setbacks
Renovations at the Rome-Floyd ECO Center are continuing, but a few unforeseen hiccups have pushed the expected opening back slightly. Originally slated to reopen at the end of the summer, ECO Center Director Ben Winkelman said that now he’s anticipating an early October opening. “Everything that has pushed our schedule back was important to get done,” Winkelman said. “These are problems you’d expect from renovating a 130-year-old building.” ...
