    POLICE: Wanted Somerset County man found hiding in crawl space

    SOMERSET COUNTY, Pa. (WTAJ) — A wanted Stoystown man was arrested after police found him hiding in a crawl space during a search of a home.

    Sean Carothers, 49, is facing drug charges after officers found meth, marijuana and drug paraphernalia in a home where he was hiding, according to the criminal complaint. On May 17, Narcotic Agents with the PA Office of Attorney General in conjunction with the Somerset County Drug Task Force searched a home on the 100 block of 5th Street in Jenner Township.

    At approximately 9 a.m., sheriffs arrived at the home and spoke with the homeowner who allegedly told them that while she was the only one who lived there, other people resided there. The homeowner then gave consent for the home to be searched, according to the complaint.

    During the search, Carothers was found hiding in a crawl space in an upstairs bedroom. Police wrote that he was eventually arrested.

    According to the affidavit, in a search of the room officers found the following items:

    • Two bags containing methamphetamine
    • One plastic bag containing a small amount of marijuana
    • A large amount of empty baggies and packaging material
    • One glass pipe containing residue
    • One calculator
    • One AR-15 platform tool bench
    • One unmarked lower receiver for a handgun
    • Numerous firearm parts
    • One flat board with white residue
    • One cell phone

    In an interview with police, Carothers allegedly admitted to selling drugs and that the drugs found in the bedroom where his.

    Carothers is in Somerset County Prison with bail set at $50,000. He is facing charges of manufacturing with intent to deliver, intent to possess a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of marijuana.

    A preliminary hearing is scheduled for June 5.
