Passaic Man Shot in Paterson: Police Investigate Carroll Street Shooting
PATERSON, NJ - A 51-year-old Passaic man was shot in Paterson early Monday, Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes and Paterson Police Department Officer-In- Charge Isa Abbassi announced. Memorial Day storms knock out power for thousands in North Jersey
Strong wind gusts from a series of rainstorms knocked out power to thousands of New Jersey residents on Monday afternoon including several hundred in Morris County. Almost 400 homes in Randloph and about 200 in Denville and Parsippany were without electricity as of 3:20 p.m., according to Jersey Central Power & Light. About 100 customers were also without power in Morris Plains.

Rain or Shine, Sparta VFW's Memorial Day Parade, Lake Mohawk Ski Hawks Show will be Held Monday
SPARTA, NJ – The Sparta VFW Memorial Day parade, ceremony and barbecue will go on rain or shine. According to VFW Post Commander Pete Litchfield only lightening would stop the parade, which is scheduled to step off at 10 a.m. The parade round will head down East Shore Trail, through White Deer Plaza, up Mohawk Avenue and finish at the Sparta Library.CLICK HERE TO SIGN UP FOR THE FREE TAPINTO.NET NEWSLETTER A wreath laying ceremony is scheduled immediately following the parade at Dykstra Park. The VFW is hosting a barbecue lunch for the community after the ceremony at the VFW, 66 Main Street. Wayne Township Memorial Day Parade Cancelled Due to Weather
WAYNE, NJ - Sadly, due to the persistent rain in the forecast, Wayne Township's Memorial Day Parade is canceled this year, according to the Wayne Parks and Recreation Department. Track and field: Top 25 team rankings heading into the postseason
It's state championship time and time for an updated ranking of North Jersey's top boys and girls track and field teams heading into public school state sectionals May 31 and June 1 at eight sites through the state. State group meets on June 7 and 8 at Franklin (groups 1 and 4) and Delsea High Schools (groups 2 and 3) and Stockton University (Non-Public A and B) follow with the State Meet of Champions June 12 at its new site, Pennsauken High School.
