MONROE, CT — Masuk High’s baseball team finished its regular season with three consecutive wins, all shutouts, and carry some momentum into the postseason. Coach Brian Hourigan’s Panthers are 10-10, a record that qualifies them for the Class L State Tournament. Masuk girls golf team’s performing at high level
MONROE, CT — Winners of 13 of its first 14 matches the Masuk High girls golf team looks to carry its momentum into the season’s stretch run — and beyond. Coach Bob Pagel’s Panthers, along with Weston and Newtown, appear to be in the best position to challenge for the South-West Conference Championship. BHS Busy on Day 1 of State Track and Field Meet
More than 30 Bridgeport High School track and field athletes will be in Charleston the next days competing in the annual state meet at Laidley Field. Day 1 of the two-day event will feature finals in two relay events and the open 3,200-meter run, a handful of field events and preliminaries for the 100, 200 and 100/110 hurdles.

The Bridgeport High School baseball team improved to 31-4 following a 2-0 victory against Williamstown on Thursday. Three BHS pitchers combined for a four-hit shutout. Connor Blake picked up the win, allowing two hits over four innings with no walks and six strikeouts. Carson Currey pitched two strong innings of relief, allowing two hits and one walk with three strikeouts. Justin Duvall closed the door, earning a save with a perfect seventh inning that saw him strike out all three batters he faced.

Westie squads make final tourney pushes
The West Haven baseball team inched closer to the state tournament with an 8-0 victory over Branford at Piurek Field. With the win, the Westies improved to 7-6 on the year. Chase Supan needed just 85 pitches to toss a complete-game one-hitter, striking out 12 in the win. Supan threw 63 strikes and came within a leadoff single in the sixth inning from pitching a perfect game.
