NOBLE — The 2026 Class 5A Oklahoma high school volleyball state tournament began Thursday at Noble High School. Here are recaps from each quarterfinal match. More: Oklahoma high school volleyball scores: OSSAA Class 6A-5A state tournament results Shawnee 3, Claremore 1 Shawnee junior Molly Megehee opted to drop it in with precision rather than deliver an overpowering spike. With Shawnee and Claremore tied at one set apiece, the third set had been back and forth, but Megehee had a chance to win it to give the Wolves the lead. As Megehee scanned the court, she noticed a hole in Claremore’s defense and used both hands to softly deliver it to the other side of the net. It worked to perfection as it hit the floor and Shawnee took the set with a two-point victory. That proved to be the turning point as seventh-ranked Shawnee then won the final set to seal a 3-1 victory over No. 2 Claremore. Shawnee volleyball beat Claremore 3-1 in Noble today for its first state tournament win in program history. High School Cross Country Regionals, College Football Weekend, & Cason Wallace Extended

Cross Country Regionals were held in multiple locations all across Oklahoma on Saturday despite the wet conditions in a few spots. Down in Waurika there were Class A, 2A, and 4A Regionals. In Class A girls team results, Balko-Forgan was the champ. Navajo was second, Thomas third, SW Covenant 4th, and Cyril 5th. Individually Cordell’s Calley Walker was second, McKinley Moore from Cordell was 3rd both qualified for State. On the boys side SW Covenant was the team champ with BFDC second, Balko-Forgan 3rd, Sweetwater was 4th, and Hollis placed 5th. Jude Lunsford from was second individually, BFDC’s Isiaih Lucero was 3rd, Blake Laster from Sweetwater was 4th, Alex Harrison from BFDC placed 7th. In 2A Girls Sayre’s Parker Morris was 3rd and Susana Swift was 20th. Both will be at the State Meet. Pheynx Morris from Sayre ran her best time of the season by 28 seconds and placed 34th. On the boys side Hobart made it to state placing 4th. In 4A Girls Weatherford’s team is going to state after a 4th place finish. The Wford boys will also go to state after a 3rd place finish.

CLAREMORE — Jentri Denwalt knew what it felt like to end a state title match in defeat. The Mount St. Mary star setter helped the Rockets reach the Class 5A championship as a freshman last year before losing to McGuinness. Now in Class 4A, Mount St. Mary had a chance to end the season on a high note as it faced Oklahoma Christian School for the title at Claremore High School. For Denwalt, who is receiving interest from Division I programs around the country, she could feel a difference. “We wanted to win and we wanted it so much more that we did last year,” she said.
