    Juvenile arrested after stolen vehicle from Rhode Island found near larceny scene in Sterling

    STERLING, Conn. (WTNH) – Connecticut State Police say a juvenile was arrested after a suspicious vehicle on Sterling Road was found to be stolen out of Rhode Island and sitting nearby an attempted larceny.

    Troopers said they found the vehicle abandoned and left running on Sterling Road and learned it was reported stolen out of Hopville, Rhode Island.

    Further investigation showed an attempted larceny of another vehicle at a residence nearby. That vehicle was found with its rear windshield smashed and the ignition tampered with, police said.

    A K-9 was used to track and locate the juvenile suspect, who was arrested and charged with first-degree criminal mischief, conspiracy to commit larceny of a motor vehicle, sixth-degree larceny, first-degree criminal trover, and interfering with officer/resisting.

    The suspect is scheduled to appear at Willimantic Juvenile Court on May 28.
