FORT WORTH, Texas - Tarrant County jurors sentenced a Fort Worth man to death for the 2018 strangulation deaths of his girlfriend and her 10-year-old daughter. Prosecutors in Texas asked the state's highest criminal appeals court on Thursday to reverse a ruling that overturned a Fort Worth woman's voter fraud conviction and five-year prison term for casting an illegal provisional ballot.Last month, Crystal Mason's illegal voting conviction was overturned by the Second Court of Appeals. Now the Tarrant County District Attorney's Office is asking the Texas Court of Criminal Appeals to reverse that ruling.Mason was convicted in 2018 of illegal voting in district court. H-E-B grocery plans to open first H-E-B location in Tarrant County
H-E-B is getting an H-E-B. The San Antonio-based grocery and Texas cultural phenomenon will open a store at the northwest corner of Cheek-Sparger Road and Rio Grande Boulevard, along the Euless-Bedford city limits. The projected opening date is in late 2026, according to Mabrie Jackson, managing director of the grocery chain’s public affairs.

Roosevelt High Students Shot Off-Campus, School Closed. Dallas ISD says it discovered a “credible threat” directed at Roosevelt High School in Cedar Crest and closed the school for the day. Two high school football players were shot and hospitalized following a drive-by shooting near the Cedar Crest Golf Course yesterday evening. They were riding home with the team’s coach when a car pulled up next to them and started shooting. One player was shot in the arm and the other was hit in the neck, but both are stable and expected to recover.
