While Springfield's weather isn't always predictable or stable, that's all the more reason to embrace the days of sunshine that grace us. If you're looking to take advantage of warm weather, here is a list of places you can soak up your daily Vitamin D and enjoy a meal.

No matter where you are in Springfield, there are plenty of options for dining al fresco.

Commercial Street is northern Springfield's spot for al fresco dining

There's a host of places to sit outside along historic Commercial Street in Springfield. Or, you can grab some food from Pappy's Place BBQ, which has been operating since 1926.

Eat your way through Downtown Springfield's patios

In the downtown area, you could make a whole day of eating at local patios: Start off with a matcha lemon parfait or some eggs Benedict at Rise , 105 Park Central Square; grab a burger and a beer at 417 Taphouse , 431 S. Jefferson Ave.; make your way to The Coffee Ethic , 124 Park Central Square, for an afternoon snack and caffeine boost; and then finish off your day with dinner at Nonna's , 306 South Ave.

Looking to shop and eat outside in central Springfield? Rountree's got you covered

Central Springfield — which we're calling the area between Walnut and Sunshine Streets — offers numerous spots to sit outside, especially when it comes to the Rountree neighborhood. If you want a little bit of everything, stop by the Metro Eats food truck park.

    Patios abound in south Springfield

Cruise along Republic or Battlefield roads in either direction and you're bound to find a place to sip and snack outside. Or, stop by Chesterfield Village to visit the World's Largest Fork By Mass before grabbing a bite to eat in the sunshine.
