Historic property damaged by tornado in Springfield up for sale

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – A property in the Six Corners neighborhood in Springfield is now up for sale.

The property is where Lincoln Hall used to be located before it was damaged by the tornado in 2011 and then a fire. Now after all of these years, the City of Springfield put it up for sale and is looking for a business that can take over the space.

The land is located near Allen, Hickory, and Rifle Streets in the Six Corners neighborhood area and is adjacent to Brookings School in Springfield. The city made some improvements to the area, including the Six Corners roundabout and new housing in the neighborhood.

Deputy Director of Planning and Economic Development Brian Connors told 22News that this property is the final piece that needs to be redeveloped, “It’s available for redevelopment we think it’s a prime site with high visibility, good traffic, and in a great location for a number of uses.”
