    Spokane Fire Department looking for suspect in arson investigation

    SPOKANE, Wash. — Spokane Fire Department (SFD) is asking for the public's help in identifying a person who intentionally started a fire near a businesses in North Spokane early Wednesday morning.

    According to SFD, video footage captured the person setting fire to a bush outside Lil Bit of Top Knot Grooming near Shannon Avenue and Madison Street just after midnight.

    SFD said firefighters managed to prevent the fire from spreading into the building, but the outside of the building is charred from the flames.

    The damages are estimated at $15,000.

    New owners took over at Lil Bit of Top Knot Grooming on May 13.

    "I'm pretty upset. This is not the first experience I wanted to have with a new business," said Kathy Ward, part-owner of Lil Bit. "It's really upsetting to know this happened so quickly and easily."
