A Spartanburg County park is closed because of the large swarm of bees taking over the playground.

A sign says Tyger River Park in Duncan is closed until further notice, the Facebook page explaining that it's a safety precaution until the bee swarm can dealt with.

Beekeepers urge anyone who feels threatened by a swarm to get in touch with somebody who knows how to safely move them to a hive or protected area.

The essential pollinators for all kinds of crops and flowers are endangered by combination of natural and manmade problems.

The beekeepers association on Spartanburg Highway in Henderson County, North Carolina has a list of apiarists in both Carolinas who will gladly assist. It’s available here .
