Ryan Silverfield, Memphis football land former Oklahoma defensive lineman Reggie Grimes II
It took some patience, but Memphis football is off the blocks in the spring portal window. The Tigers landed former Oklahoma defensive end Reggie Grimes II on Sunday night, bringing a highly touted recruit from Ravenwood High School back to his home state. Grimes played four seasons at Oklahoma after choosing the Sooners over other power conference offers and made 43 tackles during his career in Norman.

Memphis’ Offense Will Be Explosive Yet Again
All signs point to a huge 2024 for the Memphis Tigers’ offense. Not only are they returning the leading passer in the AAC from a year ago, but the Tigers are bringing back their top two pass catchers in Roc Taylor and Demeer Blankumsee. Taylor was third in the league in receiving yards (1,083) and Blankumsee’s 902 yards were seventh-most.

Wichita State (25-21, 16-11) clinched the No. 4 seed in next week’s American Athletic Conference Championship and ran its win streak to 17 in a row over Memphis. The sweep marked Wichita State’s third series sweep of the season.
