Two separate blazes destroy homes in NEPA
Fire destroyed a house Monday afternoon in Lackawanna County. Crews responded to the home along Route 407 in Benton Township, near Fleetville, around 1 p.m. Three people were home at the time of the fire; they all made it out safely along with their pets. Officials say water needed to be brought in from 2 1/2 miles away, requiring a lot of manpower. A state police fire marshal is investigating the cause of that fire.
