Man arrested for injuring state trooper at Wayne County Courthouse
HONESDALE, WAYNE CO. (WOLF) — A Lake Ariel man is behind bars after police say he injured a state trooper at the Wayne County Courthouse. According to the Wayne County District Attorney's Office, prior to a summary trial for careless and reckless driving on Monday, 32-year-old Shane Murphy, Jr. became "agitated, irate and belligerent" outside of the District Magistrate's office in the courthouse.

Increased security at Scranton schools
The Scranton School District is taking action with increased security to protect students. Numerous reports of fighting and threats of violence were brought to the attention of the district These incidents have been between students, which are both physical and verbal. Increased security presence will be at both West Scranton Intermediate School and West Scranton High School during dismissal. Additional security was also included at Memorial Stadium. Even when school is out for the summer, the district has check-ins with its students.
