The Notre Dame football program has bolstered its recruiting department. According to his X/Twitter profile , Deland “DMAC” McCullough II has joined the Fighting Irish as a recruiting associate.

McCullough is the son of current Notre Dame running backs coach Deland McCullough .

The younger McCullough arrives in South Bend after serving as an assistant coach for Oberlin College, a Division III school in Ohio, in 2023. He coached the Yeomen’s defensive backs.

Before entering the coaching ranks, McCullough played defensive back for Miami (Ohio) from 2019-20. He transferred to Indiana in 2021 — following the elder McCullough to Bloomington — and primarily contributed on special teams. He did not play for the Hooisers due to injury in 2022, instead contributing as a student assistant.

This offseason, the Irish lost recruiting associate Caleb Davis to Troy. Davis became the Trojans’ director of player personnel, following former Notre Dame offensive coordinator Gerard Parker after he was named head coach. Notre Dame director of recruiting Dre Brown accepted a director of player personnel position with Illinois, his alma mater, on Thursday.

Notre Dame director of player personnel Chad Bowden spearheads the program’s recruiting efforts. He is aided by McCullough, recruiting associate Carter Auman and recruiting analyst Becca Sites .
